How lucky are we to have had the opportunity to run round such a beautiful route and been supported by enthusiastic, wonderful marshals.
Prerace emails were clear and honestly written. With my reputation of getting lost on new (and in fact well known!) routes, my watch and phone were prepped with the route! Neither of which were needed! Signs and marshals ensured that even I didn't stray from the path!
Starting in the town, with a Town Crier was a wonderful and unique way to start the race. The route undulates through the town, fields, woods and small villages. Just beautiful!
The all important medal (I do love a medal!) was fab. Thank you Mark and Team! Awesome day!

I love Nice Work events and I especially love it when Nice Works do an event at the beautiful Sherwood Pines. The most recent event I run there was the Christmas 10k in December 2023.
Pre-race, there was a very comprehensive guide sent out to participants in advance, including information about parking (the postcode for the event), including a code to claim free parking on the day. There is plenty of parking, and toilets and a cafe were open before the 10am start. The sign posting to race HQ was easy to follow, so, pre-race stress was minimal. If you have ever run a parkrun at Sherwood Pines, you will recognise where the race start is.
The route itself follows well established and very runnable forest trails and is just a beautiful mildly undulating 2-lapper through the gorgeous trees. Support from marshals is plentiful, the medal was lovely, and there were mince pies and jaffa cakes at the end. Will I run another Nice Works event at Sherwood Pines again? Absolutely. Super friendly, accessible and just fun events. Highly recommended.
If you are worried about accessibility and cut off times: there are no cut-off times and there is a sweeper marshal on the route, so nobody comes last.

I ran at Chelmsford Marathon, organised by Nice Work. The route is a beautiful jaunt through the Essex countryside. Amazing volunteers, great atmosphere. What more do you want from a race! Thoroughly recommended for new and seasoned runners alike.

Ran my first marathon at the Tissington Trail Marathon with Nice Work last April and as well as enjoying this very well-organised and friendly race, I just wanted to say how much I appreciated the good customer service of the team when I got in touch unable to do my first race choice, the Sherwood Pines Half Marathon in Feb. There was no trouble at all to swap me over to the TTM, just the difference in fee to pay. I think this was so kind of them as otherwise I would have just lost £30 or so. Thank you Nice Work for being so NICE! 🙂 Claire

I thought the organisation was brilliant today, in difficult hot conditions, friendly marshals all over the place. The route clearly signed (15K).
I know how much hard work went into it.

Epic Racer Rules

It was a pleasure to volunteer at this event. I volunteer at several events all over the place as , I appreciate how hard it is to put the event's on so I'm always happy to give my time up plus, the feel good factor you get from seeing all the runners of all shape, sizes & abilities is just amazing.
Looking forward to next year already.

Disappointed with the lack of customer service provided by Nice Work.

My partner and I participate in 10k run. Afterwards, we went online to check our race times to find that our numbers had been replaced by two other individuals. Not ideal when you want to track official race times- We could have just turned up on the day and ran without paying and it would have been the same. After several emails asking why our numbers had been replaced and our times not recorded we did eventually get a response and that our query would be looked into, however, after several weeks we still had no further response, explaination or resolution. I guess we were 'swept under the carpet'. Certainly won't be using Nice Work again.
